Advanced Testing Equipment & Expert Guidance

Firstly, one of our team will have a professional chat about your relevant medical history and your specific problems. They will examine your outer ears, ear canals and the Tympanic Membrane (eardrums). In most cases we do this with Video Otoscopy which is a small camera that feeds an image to a screen so you can actually see in detail your ears. In some cases we will use Typanometry which provides information on the health of the middle ear.

If the ear canals are clear we will explain how we will perform the hearing test and you will go in either a sound booth or an acoustic treated booth to be tested. The test itself takes between 15 to 30 minutes and the results of the test will inform us if you have a hearing loss, the level of loss you have including at which frequencies and the type of deafness.

With your hearing test complete, one of our team will explain the results. If there is a hearing loss that we feel would benefit from a hearing aid prescription we will recommend particular manufacturers, styles and types depending on your requirements and personal needs. Naturally, we’ll encourage you to ask questions. It’s often really helpful if a spouse or family member is present during the test to help take in the information and also to provide us with information from their perspective.

Our Hearing Aid Trial

If you have a hearing loss and would like to try hearing aids, we provide all of our hearing aids on a 28-day trial basis.

The trial is to enable our patients the time to test and evaluate the performance of the hearing aids in their own personal environments and ensure they are comfortable in handling and maintaining the device. Over the trial period we arrange follow up appointments which are usually on a weekly basis. These follow up appointments are to make sure you are comfortable and happy with the settings of the hearing aids and to ensure you are happy with using the devices.

We charge £75 for the trial and if you are satisfied at the end of the trial and wish to purchase the devices the full cost of the trial is redeemed from the hearing aid purchase price.

Long Term Care & Service

Regardless of which brand and particular model of hearing aid we recommend, you will receive our exceptionally high standard of aftercare.

We typically recommend a six monthly or yearly check up appointments, which includes examination of your ear canals and eardrums, a full clean and check of your hearing aids and any new updates applied to the software. We also provide a fresh insitu test to ensure the aids are set and working correctly. There is no additional cost for these appointments.

If any problems occur in between your official appointments all you need to do is contact us and we will do our very best to rectify the problem as fast as possible.

  3. The Most Advanced Equipment

  4. Having the best devices at our disposal means we can choose from the best of the best including Oticon, Widex, Starkey, GNresound, Unitron, Oticon and Phoank hearing aids. Being completely independent helps enormously. Believe us, choosing between, say, the best Phoank and or Oticon hearing devices requires real skill, experience and complete objectivity. It also means keeping current with the manufacturer’s ongoing product developments, including the smallest, most unobtrusive ‘invisible hearing aids’. And of course, it’s about knowledge how to skilfully match specific brand and product combinations to your unique hearing aid requirements.
  5. Proudly Independent

  6. Even the world’s best digital hearing aid technology won’t properly compensate for poor testing and diagnosis of hearing deficiency. Equally, all our experience and our most skilful clinical audiology could easily be undermined by unsuitable or poor-quality types of hearing devices. That’s why we set such great store by our independent status. And why we put so much effort into applying our knowledge of hearing aid manufacturers and their products. The result is that we only recommend the very best devices. It takes detailed, up-to-date product knowledge, deep technical understanding and lots of experience.
